He won the olympic gold medal for india in 10 m air rifle section in Beijing olympics 2008. He became the first indian to win individual gold medal in olympic games.
He also won gold in the ISSF WORLD SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008. In commonwealth games he won 4 golds,2 silvers and one bronze medals in the 10m air rifle section.
In asian games he won 1 silver and two bronze medals for india.
